NEWS Old-century technology – deep ocean cables can be a global observatory to warn tsunami 12.05.2022 TK According to Oden Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences and United Nation’s SMART Cables Joint Task Force, deep ocean optic cables are stretched across a million kilometers on the ocean floor. The current task of research group is testing the concept of the sensors that will allow for low-cost global deep ocean observation to detect temperature, pressure, and seismic acceleration.
